About Us:

Maurer Metals/ Hammer Head Studio LLC was founded in 2006 by Richard Maurer and is located in northwest Ohio. Specializing in custom metal design and fabrication with an emphasis on wrought iron. We work intimately with home owners, business owners, and non-proffit orginizations to design and build architectural details, sculpture and furnishings to suit their personal style and specifications.

Artist Statement:

The process of sculpture is the finite desire to capture a state of grace born from the subconscious. Within this process I utilize the skills I have mastered as a metal smith and designer to express my version of beauty. This is an expression of the caffeinated soul dancing through time in hopes to share a voracious love for life. I believe it is the purpose of the creative existence to emulate our desires for beauty, passion, and lightness. My work stands static in space but invokes a potential energy from all directions and serves as a paradigm to the crazy momentum of our spirits.
